Thanksgiving Cleanup at Brown County
Saturday, November 29th, 2008

This year the ITRA will be concentrating our efforts on completing Trail 7.  We will have help in the form of the Eagle Scouts who will coordinate the work project.  ITRA will be providing the machinery and hand tools.  Having the Boy Scouts help is a wonderful addition to our project and will allow us to teach these young men how to build trails for future preservation for all of us.  Check in will be at the small shelter house just inside the entry gatehouse.  Start time: 9:00am.  Please make sure when you are finished working that you turn in your time as well.  We will also be picking up trash on the trails and our “Adopt a Road Project” for the 2 mile stretch will be spearheaded by Chris Eickleberry once again.
Please contact me if you plan on coming and I will put your name on the list of people who will receive one free night of camping.  Many people are going ahead and making reservations for sights for the weekend.  The sites that are not reserved are first come first served.
Note: if you make a reservation in advance, when you check in at the gate if your name is on the list you will be credited one free night of camping on your credit card you used to make your reservation but you are responsible for making sure that happens and not the gate keeper.  She will not automatically check the list.  Have your paperwork ready when you pull up to help speed the entry process.
We will have our pitch-in Saturday evening at the Strahl Lake Shelter house at 5:30pm because it gets dark very early at that time so come prepared with your most favorite dish to share with everyone and a lantern. There is no electricity.
Contact me at: hoosierhorsemen@yahoo.com or call me at 812-797-4540.  The cutoff date for letting me know you are coming is: Friday, December 21st.
